Circles of Support and Accountability (CoSA) Ottawa is at a precarious stage in our history. Now in our 20th year of operations in Ottawa, our sustainability is in jeopardy, with our funding from the federal government having concluded March 2022…and there’s too much at stake to let that happen!

CoSA addresses a critical issue affecting all our communities – the traumatic impact of sexual offences on vulnerable people. CoSA offers a proven, effective prevention strategy. If funding for CoSA Canada (the national association that distributes funds to all CoSA sites) from the federal government is not secured soon, 14 CoSA sites across Canada risk closure or dramatically reducing capacity. This means approximately 100 participants in the program (annually) will no longer receive our services, putting community safety on the line.

We invite you to email your local MP to ask that CoSA sites in your community and across Canada secure ongoing sustainable funding.  Please attach (and reference) this CoSA letter to MPs that was sent to all MPs by CoSA Canada in December 2021. E-mail list for MPs and Senators (insert your postal code to find your local MP);  snail mail addresses for MPs. Thank you for your support and help with this urgent matter!

Donate a Car Canada accepts vehicle donations for Circles of Support and Accountability-Ottawa. When you donate your car, truck, RV, boat, or motorcycle to CoSA Ottawa through Donate A Car Canada, it will either be recycled or sold at auction (depending on its condition, age and location). Our donations are managed by Zeffy, a platform that is 100% free to non-profit organizations, so we receive 100% of your donation. Feel free to review the voluntary option to contribute to Zeffy which allows them to continue this free service to struggling charities.

Unlike other platforms which typically charge a user fee in addition to transaction fees on every single transaction, Zeffy is 100% for the organisations that use our platform. Zeffy covers all credit card fees and does not charge a platform use fee. In return, Zeffy includes a suggested voluntary contribution to donors at the payment step. As it is a voluntary contribution, donors can choose a different amount from the suggested one by clicking "Other" and entering the amount of their choice, or they can enter "$0" if they do not wish to support our platform.

 Zeffy’s model is driven by the belief that all nonprofits should have access to 100% of the donations intended for their mission, therefore these contributions are Zeffy’s only source of revenue. They help to cover transaction fees, platform development and service costs. On a large scale, the voluntary contribution gives thousands of organizations access, for the first time, to a high-quality fundraising technology completely free of charge (normally the charge is a minimum of 4% per donation received). For the more than 10,000 organizations that work with Zeffy, this means a bigger budget and greater efficiency in fulfilling their mission to society.
